Are You Worthy

Well its been a little bit since I’ve posted. This is one subject I have been chewing on for some time. It is in Matt. 10:34-39 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it. ‘

This can and is a hard section of scripture. Knowing and reading it is one thing. Applying it is another. What makes it so hard? At least for me is the obedience part. About 15 months or so ago I made the decision to be obedient to what He was calling me to do. In that time there have been friends and others who have wanted me to come back to where I was before. But I knew that when He told me that “if you go back to what you were before you have failed” I needed to go on.

During this time the Lord has given me encouragement about this path. It has come in the form of devotions, words of knowledge, prophecy and scripture. But when I found this one in Matt. I have had peace. What I have been chewing on is the part about being worthy. I don’t remember how many times I have said that Jesus is my first love or the He is the most important to me. To apply this has been something else. I have said that we need to be obedient to what God has called us to do many times in this blog. Know this, I have had to follow my own advise. At first it was hard to do. But as I have gone along it has gotten easier though not without some challenges.

Our world has gone the way of the evil one and is getting worse every day. And God has been aware of this all the more. So as we hear of His desire to make changes for the better we cheer. Then we think of how He wants to do it and where. He first starts with His children. The Church. Like anything else He wants to do He uses His people to get it done. That means we need to be obedient to what He asks of us. We can’t say “not my calling” or “this is for someone else” during this time. He needs you and me to do this. That is why I have been following this path. I want to be obedient. I want to be worthy. I so Love my wife and family, but Jesus is first.

So, I ask that you read over this section of scripture many times. Let it sink in. Then ask God what He wants of you. Where are you to go or what to do. And yes it may be hard to do. Yet, you will not be alone. He will be with you every step of the way. Equipping you and encouraging you as you move forward. Also remember that you are building up treasures in Heaven and blessings as you go. For myself, I have enjoyed watching God’s people move in their gifts of the Holy Spirit. Seeing lives changed for the better. Knowing God is the center of it all. So, To God goes all blessing, honor, glory and all the credit.

Thank you God for allowing me to be part of this. For encouraging me to step out in faith. To be obedient in all that you would have me do. For the times I haven’t done what you asked or was disobedient in any way I ask for your forgiveness. Thank you for forgiving me.

Look What’s Coming

This last Sunday we had a great time of worship. It was thick and full of His presence. Later that evening during the prayer room set we continued in His presence. As we were praying over 1 Chron. 16 I did a chain reference search of part of this chapter. It lead me to Joel Ch. 3:18 and the section of “…mountains shall drip new wine…” This caught my attention so I back tracked a little bit to verse 12. From this point it talks of judgment, wickedness and just plain ugliness coming. As of this posting its not to far off. Then is verse 16 it takes a turn for the better. Mentioning that the Lord our God is going to roar, shake things up and be there for His people.

Verse 18 talks of the blessings coming our way as His people. We’re talking new wine, brooks flooded and fountains flowing. Then we read of the Valley of Acacias. This as I read represents an abandoned land. Dry and parched land. It is going to be watered. Where there is draught God is going to bring blessings to this area.

Do not give up hope. Don’t get overwhelmed by what’s going on. God knows what is happening. He has told us this is going to happen. That’s why we need to keep our focus on Him. On all things from above. God will get us through it. We just have to be obedient to all that He asks of us. Right now that is prayer, reading the Bible and sharing the Gospel. Encouraging our brothers and sisters who may be weaker. We need to be a “body” taking care of itself.

So, look to the Heavens and seek His presence. Worship Him who gave us life and life more abundant. Thanks for reading and remember to share this post with others. That they may be encouraged.

The Beginning

Here we are late December thinking about 2022. Well, I have a thought. How about we move forward with what we already started. Let me put it this way. We are in December the end of the year. A time we start to focus on the next year to come. We also celebrate Christmas. A time of focusing on the birth of Jesus. Then off to the next thing. Why do we separate the two events? A birth is the beginning of life. Notice I used beginning not end. So lets use this as the beginning it is and move forward now not after the new year has come. Why wait? This is a good way to keep Jesus on our minds as we go into 2022. Our focus can be where it needs to be first of all.

One popular saying this time of the year is “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Thinking about this saying is that its very limiting. Jesus is the reason period. All day every day, every moment. Once again where is our focus? Now more than ever we need to be moving in Christ. We need to be reading His word. Walking and using His word. Being obedient to Him and His word. All this starts with a relationship with Jesus. How is yours? The simple answer is it needs to be better. For all of us. No one can say its perfect. Because there is always up? Always more and better.

These are some thoughts to encourage you. They can encourage all of us. So please start with your relationship with Jesus. He will take care of you.

Looking for a Flavor

Yesterday during service the Lord gave me a word I want to share. He said “What flavor are you looking for? My flavors are as numerous as quail in the desert. You can have your fill of what you desire. But what I want for you is to harken to my will. See I have laid out mantles before some. Others are to pick up my yoke and carry my burden. This is my will for all.”

The flavors He talks of are the different types or paths a church is following. You can search and find something you like. The mention of quail is a reference to having so much that you are sick and tired of it. With the chance that you may not be happy at all. Still looking for something to please you. Hoping to find that which is going to the one. Yeah, good luck with that. Your focus is on yourself. Not on the One who will be the difference.

When you take the focus off of yourself and put it on Him you will find what you are looking for. In Jere. 29:11 it states ” I know the plans I have for you…” Notice its His plans for you. Its not my plans that I want God to be ok with. So if God is the God of your life, then let Him have all of it. Ask Him what He would like for you to do. By doing this you have the opportunity to be obedient to Him. Doing His will pleases Him. One thing to remember while doing this is that He gets all the glory, honor and praise.

Where is your focus today? Whom do you want to please? There is one answer and its not you. Talk to the Lord in all honesty. He will let you know what to do and where to go.

400 Years

This morning in prayer I was thinking about Joseph. I have been reading lately of Joseph’s story. So, I thought that my thinking about him was do to that. Well God had other plans. As I was in thought the Holy Spirit putting some additional information together for me to think about. It goes something like this.

The Lord planned ahead of time and placed Joseph in Egypt. This is what is told to us in the book of Genesis. The Israelites were there for 400 years until the time of Moses. His place was to lead the people out of Egypt into the promised land. Presenting them with a covenant with God that God wanted the people to follow.

Next we have the prophet Malachi. He is the last prophet of the old testament. Part of his book talks of the coming of Jesus and the one who was to prepare the way for Jesus. this was John the Baptist. The time between the two (Malachi and John the Baptist) was 400 years. Then Jesus came and brought the new covenant. A covenant of grace.

You may be seeing a pattern here. One of 400 years. So in that vain lets look at this. In 1620 a group of people fleeing religious persecution landed at Plymouth Rock. We are now 400 years later. With the established pattern there should be someone or group put in place to bring the people back to the Lord. Our Lord coming to take His Bride home. To an everlasting covenant.

I say this to bring some thought to today and why things are happening as they are. You may be thinking that I am not “the one” to come and make a difference. Well then think about this. Do you suppose that there were not any of God’s people praying for those things to happen. I think there was always a group of devout followers praying in all those times. We may not be “the one” who does these things. There may not be any one person other than our Lord’s return. But there is still praying that needs to be done. In order for His return to be fulfilled. Many of us believe that we are in the end times. This doesn’t mean that we stop praying and doing. Lets band together as one body and do our part to help this along to being fulfilled.

Psalm 37:5-9

Hello, I am posting once again. Not bad for 5 days later. Lets look at Ps. 37:5-9 (NIV) today.” Commit your way to the Lord; trust him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret- it leads only to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.”

If you go through this section of scripture there are key words or phrases to pay attention to. Like commit, trust, be still, wait patiently and refrain. Notice that these are some of the hardest things to do. They require self- control. Then you will only fully succeed if you have a relationship with Jesus. Try as you might, but eventually the enemy will overcome you and lead you off the narrow path.

With a relationship with Him you will have hope. This hope will allow you to receive the promise. That is to inherit the land. When they use words like “will” its a statement not a wish. So, read your Bible. Pray by yourself and with others. Then be sure to get to church. we need the fellowship with the “body.”

Be blessed, Ken

Catching Up

Well this is different. I haven’t said anything on here since forever ago. At least it seems that way. around the time of the last posting I started going to a diferent church. Its a young church of about 5yrs. A church that God is building its foundation. As I have been saved for 35years I have a lot to offer. But I didn’t go there until God made it clear to me to do so. Therefore in obedience I started attending it. Making myself available for whatever need arises or to fill a need that is in short supply.

Having said this I have neglected this blog to a large degree. I will be posting more often now. The character of this blog will be a little bit different. I will still post prophecies, words of knowledge and thoughts. Thou there is a good chance they may be shorter in length. I could continue and rant a bit, but I will refrain from it.

My first verse to post is Isaiah 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their vindication is from Me, declares the Lord.” Pay attention to everything after the first comma. Its what we need to know and stand on in these days.

Next is 2 Cor.10:4-5 ” For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

Both of these verses are strong and powerful. Start using them. If memorizing these are hard, at least remember the address. Remember the content. I will recommend a higher level of reading God’s Word, praying and keeping oneself clean so that there is nothing to get in the way of our prayers, authority in Jesus name and His light to shine forth. Remember mercy, grace and His Love. But don’t be a push over. Know who Jesus is. Know who you are in Jesus and know who Jesus is in you.

Change Now

Hello everyone. I’m sorry its been a long time since my last post. Things happen and time just went by quickly. So, here is a word the Lord gave me back in February. “Is it a foregone conclusion that things are set and to remain? Because I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. No, “I am” is all you need to know. Change is part of who I am. Your comfort should be in me not your ways. I am changing things this very day. The more you let me the more you will grow. Don’t change the light to see better. Change the amount of energy you put forth. Don’t continue to plow the same area expecting the result to be different.”

This one stopped me in my tracks. To be clear most of it didn’t surprise me. It was the last sentence that stopped me. We have all done this to one degree or another. Thinking that this is the time we will see change. Hoping for a better result. Well it still came out the same and we wonder why. So, I spent some time thinking about this. As I prayed it became clear to move on. God has a new season for me and with it a new set of challenges. It all has to do with being obedient to what He would have me do. Now I just wait for a couple of things to happen first.

How about you? Are you in the same field as always? Trying to do something hoping for a better result? May I recommend that you stop where you are at and ask God for directions. I know as a guy its one of the few hard things to do. Ask for directions that is. Ladies don’t feel neglected. This is for you also. God wants all of His children to listen and understand who He is. People, don’t wait too long. For I believe that God wants to bless His people with their acts of obedience. But pray and seek Him. Sometimes though there is something that needs to get done first before moving forward. This is my case. Just ask God for help and thank Him for answering your prayers.

As always please share this posting with others. We may not know who needs to hear this. Thank you for reading and have a great season.

Beyond Belief

Hey everyone how is it going? I have just finished a second 3 day period of water only fasting. And just like the last one from 2 weeks ago the awareness comes the next day. These fasts were challenging, but not as hard as I thought they would be. Fore instance, today I was watching someone on youtube and I noticed a video of an old song. It was a remake of Petra’s Beyond Belief. It was clear that it was a covid production. Sections done separately and put together. But this time I was listening to the lyrics more closely. I have since googled the lyrics and wrote them down.

These lyrics are so for today. “We’re content to pitch our tent. When the glory evident. Seldom do we know the glory came and went.” How often do we find ourselves in one spot not moving forward with God. Just there in our spot hoping for it to come back. Because this is where we are comfortable. This is why it is so important to pray and stay in God’s presence.

“Moving can seem dangerous, in this strangers pilgrimage. Knowing that you can’t stand still, you cross the bridge.” Is it unknown, sure. yet we need to move forward with God. Right after this it goes to the chorus where it talks about a higher place to go. Where we reach the next plateau. From faith to faith we grow. Towards the center of the flow. Where He beckons us to go. Leap of faith without a net. That’s faith right there. We don’t always know what or where or even when. We just need to go. Its not always going to look comfortable. But this is how we grow. Stretching us to cause us to be more dependent on God. We all have asked for an increase in faith. Why aren’t we willing to take action to get that increase. Its not going to just appear. There is a cost. Waters never part until our feet are wet. Its action. We need to move out it order for it to happen.

“There’s a deeper place to go. Where the road seems hard to hoe. He who begun this work won’t let it go. (let it go).”It’s not going to be easy, but we have to try. Or it won’t happen.

So here we are today looking at a song done in the late 80’s or early 90’s that applies to us today. We can’t go back to the time before Covid. If we do we have failed. God is moving forward and we need to also. Right now that move is to bring correction to the church. We as a church have gotten comfortable with where we are. Our comfort has gotten us to the point of picking and choosing which verse’s we like and don’t like. If we don’t like it we don’t listen to it. We csay its not of God. Because God is Love, Grace and Mercy. Forgetting that God is True, Just, Jealous and Righteous. How much of your prayer time is spent in repentance? All the garbage, sin and walls in our life will make it harder to grow. We are hindering the Holy Spirit from truly working in our lives. We become comfortable.

If you want to see revival in the Church or a restoration of our Country then we need to follow scripture. Its found in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We know this one. Its been mentioned quite a bit lately. Yet we still don’t go there. Why? Get rid of pride and humble yourself. Do this regularly and watch your spiritual life change. You may find yourself hearing God more clearly.

Be blessed, Ken

Humble and Contrite

Hey everyone, Its been some time since I last wrote on this blog. Today I am sharing a word the Lord gave me last month. So here it is. “My people, there are many that speak my Word. But only a few have I given it to. My Word is true in season and out of season. The humble and contrite of heart carry my Word. In them I will give boldness to speak forth. They shall speak life to that which is dead. Death to that which is sin. The proud already have their reward. Speak forth my Word. It carries with it both healing and witness. Show forth my light for it will expose those who try to remain hidden. My Light brings warmth and Love. With these I send you out. There where you walk will be Holy Ground. Consecrated in my name. Blessed are those who carry out my Word.”

If we start with the first part we will notice a warning. Today there are many who speak forth prophecy that God did not give. It may not be wrong just their motives. They want to be noticed. There are some televangelists and tele-prophets who are accurate. We need to discern which is which. That is done by taking it before our Lord. Pray over it.

Prophecy is either fore telling or forth telling. Fore telling is the future and forth telling is now. Prophecy will also be supported by scripture. God’s “Word” is also a reference it the Bible. It is never wrong. So, as we go on God says the humble and contrite will do His bidding. They are less likely to keep the credit and glory for themselves. Obedience is generally found in them. The proud God opposes. Hence the have their reward. A couple fleeting moments here on earth rather than rewards built up in Heaven.

The next part talks of what His word does and what His light will do. Followed by God taking back His land. Then of course the blessing to those who are obedient. To go back a moment to the humble part. I will say that being bold is not proud or overconfident. Its not elevating yourself above others. In this manner its about having courage to speak God’s Word. Its about being obedient to Him who has given us life and life more abundant. There is no time now to worry about hurting ones feelings by speaking and sharing God’s Word. If they are offended then I would say you are in the right moment. These are the people who really need to hear it. Will you be persecuted for this? The answer is YES. But that is going to happen whether you speak or not. If you identify as one of God’s children then they will persecute you. If they don’t know that you are His child, then you need to spend more time in prayer. For in His word it tells us that if deny God then He will deny us. I personally want to hear “well done” rather than “go away.”

To some being bold will be easy to others not so. It just means we need to work at it a little bit more. Practice going out with someone sharing His Word. So for now we need to start being bold for God.

Be blessed, Ken
