Partake of More

Here we go with a follow up to the last posting. This is what the Lord gave me. “My Children I have poured out on my people. I will continue to pour out on my people. What I pour out is still sitting there. Not as many as I desire are coming to me to receive what I have laid out. Even the trees know to drink what I have provided. That they may grow strong. That They may be rooted and established. Yet, my people hunger and thirst but don’t drink. you need what I have. For the time has come , days are short. Eat, drink and be well fed. My people go about and lack nothing. I have set you apart from the beginning. Go share my word with those who need it. Give all away that I have given you. Come receive more and go back out. But start now, partake in me and we will be together. I in you and you in me. Go forth in my name.” The first part of this is interesting. The notice of His people letting His outpouring sit there. God gives us abundantly and expects us to go and share His word and love to this lost and dieing world. So why don’t we partake of His outpouring? Is it because we are afraid? Afraid of failing? We have the habit taking it all personal. Its not us they are rejecting. Its our Lord Jesus Christ. Burt because its us sharing we take it all in. It the same manner we need to be careful not to take credit for Jesus’ work in someone’s life. He makes the difference not us. All of this is backed up with the example of the trees. Two things come from this. One is that the trees partake of what is needed. Two is that they may be rooted and established. Is this why some of us fall away from Him? Is this why some of us are afraid to share? You can’t give out what you don’t have.

After this is the call to partake more. Eat, drink and go about doing His work. For we are called to do “good” works in His name. But if we aren’t prepared we will find it difficult to do so. Leaving us to try to explain it away with the thought of “I’m not an evangelist,” or “I can’t just freely talk to people like that.” Yet we all have a life. We work, go to school, go to the store and other aspects of our daily lives. All we need to do is live a life worth living. People will notice that we are different. And when they notice it they may ask us why we are different. This is now the opportunity to share is love and didn’t have to go out and make cold calls to people. But first we need to receive what Jesus is laying out before us. Eat, drink and be with Him. It all starts with Jesus.

Be blessed, Ken

More and More

It has been awhile since my last posting. I have found myself doing more things on a personal level. More than I am accustomed to. This is a good thing and yet I know that there is more to come. Which leads me to this. Our Lord and Savior gave me a word two Sundays ago that I have been chewing on. This word has gotten to me. I have been taking an inventory of myself in answer to it. Enough said, here it is. “Take this word of mine and take it in. The more you take, the more you shall receive. Take this and all my words in deeply. Share these words deeply. The deeper you receive, the deeper you can share. Make this an everlasting ordinance in your life.” When I  was given this word I was thinking “wow, how simple and yet so deep.” At first thought one might say no kidding. Another may say yea so what. But truly this is a wow moment. Many times I have thought of why I don’t receive these long and drawn out prophecies. I have come to realize that God doesn’t need to use a lot of words to get His point across. In fact Jesus even talked about the pharisee’s giving long prayers just for show and making themselves look god and important.

So here we are. Lets look at the first part. The phrase “Take this word of mine and take it in” brings me to John 6:35  where Jesus said that He is the bread of life and whoever goes to him will never go hungry. Jesus is the word. The word that was made flesh. How much of His word do we take in? How often are we taking in this word? Do we hunger and thirst for His word? For His righteousness? We can only take in what we want to. So, do we really want to? Leading us to the second part “The more you take, the more you shall receive.” Where is our hunger? Are we happy with where we are at or do we need to be taking in even more? I’ll answer this by asking a question. Do you want to be used in the kingdom of God and if so how much? These are very trying days that we live in. We need Him more and more each day. But, so does the rest of this world. They are in need of Him even if they don’t think so. Many of them don’t even truly know of Jesus. Or know about Him. Yes, many don’t want to hear anything about Jesus. Yet they have eyes that see. Looking for us to make mistakes. We need to be living his word in front of them Right before their eyes.

Now that we have been taking Him in, how far is His word sinking in? Take this word in as deep as you possibly can. Meditate on it. Ask questions in your prayer time. Ask questions of your elders and pastors about what you have been reading. Or even of what you are hearing from our Lord. All of this will cause you to grow in Him. Then you will be able to share even more with others wanting more. With others who don’t know about Jesus. You will be better prepared for their questions. Make this a habit in your life. It doesn’t happen overnight. But if you don’t start now it will not happen at all. Take your time and take Him in. Start this day a work of understanding Him. You won’t be disappointed. Remember that God has all the answers and is just waiting on us to ask the questions.  Read and pray for this is a great way to go deeper.

Be blessed, Ken

7 Days

It was Christmas morning service and during the time of worship The Lord showed me something. That the seventh day after Christmas was the New Year. It is something that we all know. After all we have been celebrating the two holidays a week apart for what would seem like forever. Or at least since they put Our Saviors birthday on the 25th. of December. So here’s my point. The Israelites marched around Jericho for 7 days. On the last day the walls came down and they conquered it. For the first six days they marched around the city once a day. On the seventh day they marched around it seven times blowing the trumpets (rams horns). Then they sounded a long blast on the trumpets the seventh time around  along with everyone giving a loud shout and the walls came down. This is found in Joshua ch.6:1-21.

So whatever you have need for. Whatever or whomever you are interceding for, pray for it the next six days. In your prayers be honest with yourself. Start by asking for forgiveness and to be cleansed from any sins you may have done. This way there is nothing in the way of your prayers being heard. It will be a clear path between you and God.

On the seventh day pray seven times for your needs or at least seven times longer. Truly pray with all your heart. For when we look at the story of Jericho we can ask “why did they have to march around the town 7 times?”With no direct answer lets say it was a test of their heart. Did they really want to conquer Jericho? Did they really want to please the Lord? Did they really want to be obedient to God? Now put yourself in these questions. When you do you find something out about yourself and/or God that you didn’t know.

So pray to the Lord. Remember that what ever you ask for it will be given to you. Just don’t ask for great treasures. the ones like a new exotic sports car. These are the things that tell God you are putting money and riches before Him. For it says in the bible that you can’t serve both God and money. In Matt. ch.7:7-11 we have the “ASK” principle. Follow this area of scripture and see what God does. Have faith and believe. Don’t give up not even after seven days. This might just be the beginning of something great. A blessing He has been saving for the right time. And all He has been holding it for the exact time you need it. He just wants you to brake down some walls first.

Be blessed, Ken

P.S. If you don’t start right away thats ok. Just do it for 7 days starting as soon as you can. Taking you into the new year foe only a short time.

The Colors of God Pt. 3

Well here is the last part of the series. In the prophecy it talked about the dark place. Its a place people often find themselves in. A place God doesn’t want us to be in. He said that in the words given me for this time. As with God’s ways, He gave us a way out. He said to look up and be set free. For looking up is to look up to Heaven and set your eyes and thoughts upon Him.

But I’m going to go back to the thought of being in a dark place. As I thought about this God started showing me things. In one instance I was on a boat on Lake Geneva for our Church Leadership appreciation dinner. Looking over the lake I was seeing the lights reflect upon the water. No matter what color light was shining , the same color would reflect on the water. This is easy enough to understand. For why would it be different. The water will reflect exactly what is shown. So, lets go back to the dark place and apply this principle. If a person is in a dark place and can’t find their way out, what are they to do. One might answer “cry out to God” or even “scream for help.” The thing is they may be doing it, but who is listening. This is where we need to be listening to God. God does know what is going on in People’s lives. He knows who is the right person to send.  For God does not make mistakes. There is a reason for everything He does and says. When He asks us to go to the person in need of help, who are we to say no. Remember Moses said that he was not good at speaking like that. So God had Aaron talk and Moses still went. Jonah complained and yet He still went to Nineveh. Both of them were obedient to what God wanted them to do.

Now when God wants us to go to help we should be saying yes. These people who are in a dark place need help seeing. They may be having a hard time looking up. They may even be having a hard time functioning properly. If this is the case we need to ask ourselves what colors are we showing? If you are not sure ask God to show you. Often we need to do some cleansing in order to show His colors. We can’t have anything covering them up. Can you imagine going to help someone and they can’t see the one who sent you in you. In this same thought . Can you imagine going to help someone and see the full rainbow of God’s colors shining from you. These may be the exact colors of hope they need. Colors that say life. colors that say His blood cleanses their sins and puts them in the past not to be seen again. Colors that say love, hope and that they are precious to Him. This is why we need to have a good or even great relationship with Him who has set us free. As much as its for us , its also for someone else.

We all have something to share with people. God’s colors are not limited to the “super” Christians. In fact its usually us who are not in the spotlight that can do some of God’s best work. Get close to Him and let your colors show. For when people see God’s colors through you we can tell them to look up and see where they came from. To see the author of these colors. Then they will be set free also.

Be blessed, Ken

The Colors of God Pt.2

In the first posting we covered the colors of the sky, water and the grass. So now lets continue with the colors of the rainbow. The colors of a rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Indigo, violet (purple) and white. Some of these have meanings that are pretty clear. Red for example is symbolic of Jesus’ blood. White is purity. Purple has a meaning of royalty. Yellow or Amber is for the Glory of God. But what about the others. Green for life, blue for Heaven and Holy Spirit. Indigo which is a darker blue could mean covering. Finally orange, which some say is for fire. Many say it means separation. A person could go and spend a lot of time researching this and still not have a definite answer. For our purpose we will keep this simple. In these colors along with the rainbow itself we have the holy trinity. Colors that represent Jesus the Son of God. God the Holy Spirit. And God the Father who created it. I personally may spend more time looking into this, but not write about it. For the sources out there with some answers talk a good talk but I need to verify their statements. I know this may not be overly exciting. As the meanings of red, white and purple are easy to understand. Its just that the other colors seem to have many meanings and I don’t want to say yes this is definitely it.

This next part is thought provoking. The prophecy mentioned that they won’t always be there. The colors that is. So, why not? One reason could be the simple answer of death. When we go on to the next part of our journey we will be else where. Not on this earth and in this body. Looking on the colors as we do. Or it could reference some of the happenings mentioned in the book of Revelation. Of course physical blindness is a thought. Which brings the question of why talk about it if there is no clear answer? But there is a clear answer. That answer is to pay attention to it now that we can. Turn our focus to Him who has given us life  A life more abundant. We need to pay more attention to God then we do. Our days are numbered and short. Time is short to spread His good news. Start talking about the one we truly love. Plant seeds, water seeds already planted. Harvest time has come for many and the workers are few. This is mentioned in Matthew ch.9 verse 37 by our Lord and Savior Jesus. It applied then and it applies now. Even more so as people fall away or just don’t like doing it because they aren’t comfortable doing it. What will people say or think of me then. The real question is what will Jesus say or think if you don’t? It challenging and not always easy or comfortable. But needed none the less.

Please spend time in prayer. Seeking Him who gave you a reason to live. If you don’t have that relationship with Jesus than ask someone who does to pray with you. guiding you to the door of salvation. Letting you know how easy it is to open. If you know someone in this spot then take the time to talk to them about a life with Jesus. We all need strength for this time coming. And the only one who can provide it is Jesus.

Be blessed, Ken

The Colors of God pt. 1

Its been almost two weeks since I gave this word to the body. It was about some of the colors God has created. As is the case I will not be able to quote it exactly for I don’t remember the exact wording. It started out with there is a reason for the blue color of the sky. There is a reason for the water to be blue and the grass green. Now take my rainbow. I know its a sign, but it also tells you what you need. For soon they will be gone. But, they will always be there. If you are in a dark place then you are not where I want you to be. If you see nothing but darkness then you don’t see what I want you to see. Look up and see. You will be set free. These words are close to what I said. Even though there may be a small portion I totally forgot. None the less this is the part I want to talk about.

Lets start with the blue sky. First of all blue represents the Holy Spirit. Did you ever notice that the farther away you get from Earth the darker the shade of blue. We’ve seen this with pictures from airplanes, spacecraft, and satellites to name some. What makes blue lighter in color? you simply add white to it. Now you have added a color representing purity, righteousness, and the holiness of God. This sky contains the very thing we need to breath and therefore live. Remember that God so loved the world … Yes He gave His Son. But that is not all apparently. And yet we don’t think about this. We take it for granted.

Next in line to talk about is the water. This one is more common to see and think about. One of our references is in the Gospel of John. In chapter 4 verses 4-15 we have the story of the Samaritan woman at the well. In it Jesus tells her of the “living water.” A story that hits home for all of us. As you will notice that water is also blue. And when you look at it from above the shallower the water the lighter it becomes. Similar to the sky. So, with this train of thought, we have blue and white again. This time its something we need to physically drink . A vital part of our existence depends on it. As human beings we need air and water to live. How can we have not seen the similarities before? Something we take for granted because its a natural part of life. God the Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit are as much a part of our lives. We do need them for life and a life more abundant. Lets take them into our lives just as easily as drinking water and breathing the air (sky). They really are a natural part of our existence.

Along with the water God spoke of the grass being green. Green represents life. Wow, what a change this is, right. Obviously we know that more than grass is green. Just about all plant life is green. Some plants are red for instance. Red is symbolically of the blood that was shed by Jesus. This also has brought us life. As the way God created plants, they take in the breath we exhale (impure) and give off oxygen (air) that we need. Once again giving us life. Notice that this is a cleansing process. Cleansing needed to have life. Like going to Jesus and asking for forgiveness of our sins to receive Him into our lives that we may have life in Him.

In order to keep this from not getting to long I’m going to stop here and make this part one. It won’t be long before part two comes out. But this is a lot to think about and take in. To meditate upon His word. To spend time with Him and get to know Him more and more. Please do take this time and get closer to Jesus. Its not something you will regret. Go for a walk and see the colors.

Be blessed, Ken

Jailbreak

As I get into this posting I would like to encourage you to spend more time with God then you currently are. It doesn’t matter how much you do now. Just increase it to a point of greater time spent with Him. I say this because I have increased my reading time, my devotional time and my prayer time. This has the effect of making it easier to get into His presence. God does want to be with you. He wants to share mysteries with you. He wants you to go willingly and do His will.

For as of a few months now I have been doing prayer walks in Zion Ill. On one of these walks last Saturday The Lord spoke to me about a “jailbreak.” So, I asked what He meant by it. He said that he was going to set His people free. Free from binds. Free from being held captive to sin and its ways. Free from all that keeps His people from Him. This was becoming very exciting to me as I was walking. It put a bounce in my step. All this brings to mind of the book of Acts Ch.12. Where we read about Peter escaping prison. Nothing prevents God from doing it again. If His people are bound it is harder to do His will. Its harder to mentally to spend time with God because we start listening to the enemy about unworthiness. Now we are on a downward spiral and getting worse. Believe in Him and He will set you free. just ask Him to with all of your repentant heart. He is faithful and just to do it.

So, this last Sunday in church we had a great service I would refer to it as having “church.” There was no preaching, just prayer, praise and worship. It was a time of refreshing and setting God’s people free. We had a jailbreak. Nothing compares to a service where God is moving mightily among His people especially when they are receiving  all that He wants to impart to them.  And He really wants to do it for us. We just need to get ourselves into a position to get it. This position starts on our knees in prayer. asking for forgiveness of our sins and repenting of them.

All of this is good, but God isn’t done yet. I believe this is only the beginning of what He wants to do. I believe the jailbreaks are going to be more frequent. And as many have said about the third great awakening, this could all be a part of that. A move of God in Zion by His people will also come. The “remnant” will move out in Jesus’ authority and do miracles, signs and wonders in His name. This is getting very exciting and I’m looking forward to it. We need to be consistent and continue to spend time with God. Read His word. Pray and worship Him. Don’t lose heart and start a slow fade away from Him. Press on to the prize and win the race. In the process, share the gospel with others so that they can be with Him.

With all that is happening in the world and our country, we can still depend on God to get us through it. God does take care of His own. He is the one constant we have. Faithful and true. God is the only way period. Don’t stop believing in Him. Things may seem bleak, but God is not bound by what the world says and wants of Him. He is getting ready to move. Are you ready for it? It could happen tomorrow, it could be in several years. We do not know the day or the hour. God the Father does. On other thought of scripture that  I am reminded of. Its in Acts Ch.16 when Paul and Silas  were in prison. They were singing and praying when there was an earthquake. Then the prison doors were flung open and everybody chains were loosened. We can see the same things happening in our time. And the example of Paul and Silas is a good one to follow.

Don’t lose heart. Stay focused and in God’s presence.

The Fountain Flows

A couple of Sunday’s ago Our Lord and Savior gave me a word. As I gave this word the Lord was creating an image. It started out with the picture of a fountain in a field. It was flowing freely. Then He went on to talk about trees being planted near the fountain. This all makes sense since the trees need water to grow. Our Lord then said that he walks among the trees and prunes them. He said these trees bare fruit in their season and the leaves are large enough for shade. Afterward the Lord asked if we are a tree near the fountain. What a great picture this is. Our Lord walks by the trees in the field as they are watered by the fountain. The Fountain is also a symbol of our Lord. For in the Gospel of John Ch. 4:7-14 Jesus talks about being the living water. We are to be drinking of this water daily. Not just when it is convenient or when we are really thirsty, but always drinking of the water. Thats why we see the fountain flowing. Its living, flowing freely to the trees that are thirsty and drinking of it. Can you imagine the fountain filled with water that was not flowing? Water just sitting there getting scummy and stuff sitting or growing on it. I’ve seen ponds like that and its pretty nasty. Jesus is not that way though. He’s constantly moving and flowing. Going about His people and giving them all that they need.

Although the main focus was Jesus and the fountain. We also heard of Him walking and pruning the trees. Pruning the dead parts or even the unwanted parts off the tree. This shows the importance of spending time on our knees in prayer and repentance. Asking for forgiveness of our sins and the strength not to do them again. So, when we do this with an open heart and truly wanting forgiveness. Jesus will forgive us and give us what we need to not go there again. This pruning will only make us stronger. Stronger to stand up to the enemy and tell him “NO, I won’t go there.” In James 4:7 it says “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” The key here is to submit to God. When we do that, He will be standing next to you in the situation. Showing the devil that you aren’t alone.

In  psalm 1 we read about man himself. How blessed a man is if he does certain things and isn’t blessed if he does that. Down in verse 3 it says, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields  its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” When I was giving this word of the Lord, I did not even think about what it said in Psalm 1. This was pointed out by the children’s pastor right after it was given. Showing us that prophecy will go along with God’s written word. It won’t go against it.

Now the question remains, are you a tree by the fountain getting pruned or not? Are you reading and praying so as to get even closer to God? Even if you are, nothing says that you can’t do more to get even closer to Him. Making Him all and everything in your life. Pruning only hurts for a short time. Then we will feel better. God will be that much stronger in you. Guiding you in the path of your life with Him. Get into His presence and enjoy it. Its all part of being equipped to do His will and ready for whatever comes your way.

A Walk in the Park

The title of this post is only the most recent thought I have had on a subject many of us may have heard. So many prophecies have been given concerning Zion. Of those, the ones about the “wells being re-dug” are numerous. When I have heard these I often pictured a particular park in Zion. A park located on the south side of the town. This park is Ophir park on the corner of 31st. St. and Sheridan Rd. At the time I didn’t understand why, but now its more clear. This park has a stream running through it. Very little water is in it. Although it does flow, it moves slowly and around many obstacles.

First lets talk about the name “Ophir.” It means “fruitful region” by Hitchcocks Bible name dictionary. Ophir also appears in scripture many times. Referencing the fine gold found in that area. When you read about it the impression is that its of the finest gold found. King Solomon would send ships to Ophir just for the gold. You will also find it mentioned in Job and Isaiah.

All of this has come to my attention as I have been doing prayer walks down Sheridan Rd. in Zion. As I went past the park this last week I truly felt the Lord drawing me to this spot. The presence of the Holy Spirit was strong when I got there. So I went into the park to pray there specifically. Noticing that the stream was very shallow. With garbage in it. Sand bars that change the pattern of flow. Tree limbs, weeds and other stuff in it that doesn’t belong. The park itself is nice, but has many dead or nearly dead trees in it. As a whole the park is overgrown, weedy and just not taken care of properly.

So what does this all mean? Well by definition its not a “fruitful region.” No one would think it is by the dead trees and lack of overall care. The stream being shallow and having to go around such stuff in it that it appears to be stagnant. Then came this thought. How is it any different than the walk of much of God’s church? We may not be dead, but stagnant comes close. Where are the signs and wonders being done? Where is the “living water” flowing? Is it flowing? What obstacles have we put in the way? My prayers have been for God to raise up a remnant that will make a difference in this town. Willing to do what is asked of them by God. Going to where they are needed. Doing the will of Him who saved them.

I’ve also prayed for the “wells of living water” to flow freely again in Zion. To spring forth from the ground and bring healing to this land. Another prayer has been for the Holy Spirit’s fire to invade His church body. The church body on fire and in unity could set this town back on course to doing God’s will. Making a difference in the lives of the people of Zion and the region around it. This may sound typical, but I believe it can happen. All we need to do is listen and obey. Obey what our Lord is saying and freely saying yes. Yes I’m available for you Lord Jesus to do what is asked. We need to stop throwing garbage into the stream. Stop putting obstacles in the way. Remember its not about doing whats comfortable. Its about doing what is right by God. Saying yes to Him and His ways.

As a sign of all this happening I’ve asked God to show us. Let us know by having the dead trees coming back to life. Showing new life in them. Having the stream become larger and stronger. Flowing greatly and over flowing the banks. Do you believe in making a difference? Do you believe this can all happen? Then join me in prayer for Zion. Pray at home. Pray in the town. Just pray as the Lord would have you to. When this gets going it will reach into area’s north, south and west of Zion. Even crossing the Lake east and making a difference.

Thanks for reading and please share this posting with others. For all I want to do is to build and edify the Body of Christ.

Fore Fathers Path

A week ago while at the alter praying before service I heard the Lord talk to me about our Fore Fathers. He talked about their path being overgrown. We need to take this path again. This is a path they took. Not a highway. It was the path least traveled. This would also explain why it is overgrown. Today, we don’t want to take that path. A highway with more people is appealing to us. After all there are more people to witness to. We need to go to where the people are. much of this is true. Except that we aren’t always prepared for this path. When that happens we get sucked up in that way of life. A life style that is fun and easy going. One that offers more money, more stuff and more of everything our heart desires. What is not to like?

How about all of it. Has God called us to a life style where we are no different than anyone else? We are the salt of the earth. We are a light guiding people to His great Love and Grace. Its not the other way around. The people around us need to know that we are different and not afraid to show it. You see, we who are called by His name are different. We have someone on our side that offers a way to heaven guaranteed. His name is Jesus. The author and perfecter of our faith. For there is no other way to heaven except through Jesus Christ himself. He is our strength. He is our courage. He is all that we need.

Lets look at our the people who went before us. A fore father can be someone from hundreds and thousands of years ago. Or even just a decade or two ago. Its one who decided to walk in obedience to God. Who was not afraid to be different or alone. Knowing that they were walking with God in His truths and ways. It may not have been popular, but it was what they needed to do. We do not need to go down the exact same path as before. We do need to continue to share the gospel to a lost and dieing world. Our fore fathers laid out a path of going before us and preparing a way. Some of us will go further down this path preparing a way for those to follow. Others of us will plant seeds and yet others will harvest on this path. God will direct us to the people who need  a word, healing or miracle. Remember that its His plan, not ours. We will be more effective following God’s way. He has been preparing us all the time. Just because the path is overgrown doesn’t mean that it needs to stay that way. Its the path that leads to the door of salvation. Its not a highway that leads to a large gate or worse a toll booth. Its a path. Then we can travel that path around to others  for the purposes of teaching, guiding, and encouraging His children. The path He has laid out before us is based on His plan for our life. Some paths are great and loaded with honor. Yet some are simple and quiet. Both paths are of the same importance in the eyes of God. Don’t be discouraged with a path that was not what you wanted. Its a path that is needed. If your not sure of the path, then take time to stop and ask God where to go. He will show you the way.

Our world is not the same as it was before. And then again it is. We Christians are still being persecuted. This is why we need to stay on His path. God will guide us through. Remember that He will not leave us or forsake us. For God is not bound by this world. After all He created it. We are the ones who have messed things up. So, lets stay on the path God has set out before us. Where as going down the highway may get you run over.

Be blessed, Ken
