The Light Stand

Here is a thought for you today. About a month ago I had a vision of a light stand. In the center was a a larger light about 10-12 inches tall and about 4-5 inches in diameter Circular in shape and well lit. Below it were three lights on a bracket equally spaced apart. These lights were about 3-4 in. tall and about 1-2 in. in diameter. They were lit, but not as bright as the center one. This bracket spun clockwise around the center light. Afterward I heard the Lord say this is my church.

I have spent some time thinking about this. The center light is clearly Jesus. The smaller lights are the different churches I have attended. They could also be different denominations of His body if you chose to see it that way. In any case the spinning part is what I have spent time thinking about. Why are they spinning and why clockwise? The second part of the questions answer is that they are going forward. Not backward as would spinning counter-clockwise would indicate. Time on a clock moves clockwise or forward. Now to answer the first part. This can be troubling. The spinning indicates chasing God. Going after Him and not gaining any ground. The lights being not as bright as the center light shows us that there is still a ways to go.

In John 8:12 Jesus said that He is the light of the world. That makes sense as the center light being so bright. As for the smaller lights it says in Matt. 5:14 “you are the light of the world.” These are Jesus’ words in the sermon on the mount. If we are to be the light we need to be a lot brighter. This dimly lit stuff needs to stop. But to complete this thought we need to address the spinning part. In Ps. 46:10 it states “be still, and know that I am God.” Notice the separation after still. The comma creates emphasis on the first part. Be still and wait. there is no better place to be than in His presence. The more time we spend with Him the brighter we will be. Maybe then we can stop spinning and just be His light . Drawing all men unto Him.

I thank you for taking the time to read this. Just take as much if not more time thinking about this. If there is a prayer request, please let me know in the comments section. If its to personal for this blog go to the Guardians of Life facebook  page and leave a message. Rise up and let your light shine forth.

Prayer

This Friday October 31, I am having a time of prayer. It will start at 7:00 pm and go however long it goes. Not only will we spend time in prayer, but also in worship. If someone that is gifted in worship would take the time and lead us in this, it would be greatly appreciated. I will have some info on Halloween available to read. Most importantly I want this to be a time lead by the Holy Spirit. Please come if it is possible. Thanks

The River Pt. 1

One of the important parts of this blog is the tagline.”Go for a walk in the river. You won’t ever be the same.” I based this from Ezekiel 47:1-12. Its importance is about the closeness we can have with Jesus. In the gospel of John ch. 4 Jesus talk to the woman at the well about “living water.”

Back in Ezekiel we see a river that flows from under the south side of the temple. It also comes from south of the alter. When you put yourself in a position of being on the alter facing out, everything comes from the right. The right being a symbol of strength. A strength of Jesus is the life (river) he offers us through himself. When you read John 19:34 it says that he was pierced in his side bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. Although it does not tell us which side was pierced. It is believed to be the right side in order to weaken his strength. Still, when was the last time you cut yourself and had water flowing with the blood?

This river is described as being ankle deep, knee  deep, waist deep and so deep no one can cross it. A good picture of how close do we want to be with Jesus. Do we just test his presence or are we willing to go so far that we lose ourselves in Him.

In the next part we will look at the river in another aspect of life from Ezekiel ch. 47. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Pass the site on to friends and share God’s love and life with somwone.

The First Post

Well here I am getting ready to start up a blog. This is something that I have been praying over for some time. It first was suggested to me by a good friend ( thanks Larry). The content of this blog will remain in the spiritual category. It will have prophecy, testimonies, and teachings among other things related to our walk with God.

Please be patient as I am starting to get the handle on this. Postings will be sporadic at times and yet I may post more than once in a day. I am doing this to keep up with what God has given me to do. I want to build and edify the body of Christ. My goal is to bring healing to those who need it. Comfort to those wanting it. knowledge and understanding to those looking for more.  If you desire to leave a comment, please do so. As I welcome comments. As when I am teaching a class, all I have is what God has shown and given me. Other thoughts  and insights can only cause us to grow and gain a better understanding of the one we love.

Thanks again and may God show himself to you in a special way today.

Be blessed, Ken
