One of the important parts of this blog is the tagline.”Go for a walk in the river. You won’t ever be the same.” I based this from Ezekiel 47:1-12. Its importance is about the closeness we can have with Jesus. In the gospel of John ch. 4 Jesus talk to the woman at the well about “living water.”

Back in Ezekiel we see a river that flows from under the south side of the temple. It also comes from south of the alter. When you put yourself in a position of being on the alter facing out, everything comes from the right. The right being a symbol of strength. A strength of Jesus is the life (river) he offers us through himself. When you read John 19:34 it says that he was pierced in his side bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. Although it does not tell us which side was pierced. It is believed to be the right side in order to weaken his strength. Still, when was the last time you cut yourself and had water flowing with the blood?

This river is described as being ankle deep, knee  deep, waist deep and so deep no one can cross it. A good picture of how close do we want to be with Jesus. Do we just test his presence or are we willing to go so far that we lose ourselves in Him.

In the next part we will look at the river in another aspect of life from Ezekiel ch. 47. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Pass the site on to friends and share God’s love and life with somwone.

Be blessed, Ken
