On this last Sunday the Lord gave me a message to share. So without further ado here it is. “My children I’m going to paint two pictures for you. The first is of a rose growing up among the thorns and thistles. This rose overcame all to rise above them. The second is of a lily in the field. A single lily in the vast field. Did I abandon this lily? Did I make a mistake? Instead ask this question. How come there aren’t any more? There are more, they just haven’t grown up yet. This lily is a beautiful thing. Put in its place for a reason. I’ve planted seeds, but who is watering them? Do not say this is not for you. Do not think that you must be among and endure the thorns and thistles. They have been conquered. I need, I want lilies in the field. For this is a beautiful thing.”
In the first picture the rose is a symbol of our savior Jesus Christ. Who endured beatings, mocking, spitting, and more for us. Even going to the cross to die for our sins. He has risen and is seated next to God the Father. The thorns and thistles are symbolic of the curse of the earth (see Gen. 3:18). Jesus wore a crown of thorns. Once again overcoming it on the cross.
The second picture is of a lily. The lily is symbolic of beauty and splendor. Go to Matt. 6:28-29 to read about the splendor of lilies. When you go to Song of Solomon 2:1 you will find another example of these pictures. So in this prophecy God is asking us to go out and water (share and talk to) those who haven’t received Jesus as their savior. A people make Jesus their Lord and Savior, Lilies will grow and populate the field. He also adds a message of hope to this. When He tells us not to think that we have to suffer first to become worthy of sharing His message. He conquered it all so we don’t have to. These lilies are a beautiful thing. Lets get out and water some seeds.
Be blessed, Ken
