Back to the Basics

On Sunday I gave a word from the Lord to the congregation. I will give you what I can remember as best as I can. This is not going to be exactly word for word. I don’t always remember it exactly, because I try to say it as soon as possible as to not think about it and therefore interject myself into it. It started with a call back to the basics. Love the lord your God and to love your neighbor as Christ loved the church. This is a mix of two  scriptures. First its love your neighbor as yourself (Matt.22:39) and husbands love your wives as Christ loved the church (Eph.5:25). I believe it was put this way to show how important it is.

Another part was the fact that there is a darkness covering the earth. We are living in perilous time. It must come so that God’s glory can shine. He is our only hope. There is no other answer. It continued with a call for the separation of the “wheat from the tare” (Matt.13:24-30). Are you a weed (tare) or are you the wheat ready for harvest? The answer is in your relationship with Jesus. If you have one and are a child of the only true living God, then you are the wheat. Otherwise you need to get right with God and receive Jesus into your heart and ask for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will be on your way to a great adventure the results in your going to heaven when its time.

There was more about His love, His glory, His truths. Notice this is not about what man thinks. Its about Him and Him alone. Take the time now to get closer to Him. You won’t ever regret it.

Our Struggles

As of this writing I am on the last day of my vacation. One thing that was brought back to my thoughts was this last Saturday. We were travelling from the resort in Pagosa Springs  Colorado  to Albuquerque. Our route took us through Santa Fe NM.Once we were on the outskirts I got this wierd feeling I could not get rid of.

It bothered me to no end. When we stopped in town at  the capital  building I talked to my wife about it. In our talks she mentioned that there is a large hippie culture in the area. Then it all made sense. The “New Age” following is strong there. So prayed just aabout every minute we were there. The ill feeling  I was having was going away slowly.  The more I prayed the better I felt. After getting back on the road to go down to Albuquerque the feelings had all left me.

One of first scriptures that came to me was Eph. 6:12. Which states ” For our struggle is notagainst flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” At which I asked myself why Ifelt it more then they did. My answer  is that I’m in a different place spiritually than they are. It was given to me so that I would do something  about it. I did, I prayed against the oppression and strongholds I was encountering.  2 Cor. 10:4  says that our weapons are not of this world. They have divine power to demolish strongholds. In Jeremiah 1:10 God told him that he was appointed  over nations and kingdoms to uproot  and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant. Are we to be any different?  Don’t  go looking for it. But when it comes across  your path, do something about itand pray.

The River Pt. 2

In this second part we are going to see how the river affects the area’s around it. When you read the first six verses you find out that he was lead to the river. Now we see in the latter part of verse six that he is lead back to the river bank. One question that comes from this is are we willing to be lead by God?  If not then what is in our way? Is it arrogance, pride, doubt, fear, or something else. We need to follow Ezekiel’s example and just do it.

After this verses 7-12 give a description of what happens when the river flows. First he sees a great number of trees. Trees are often a symbol of life. Then it talks about it going to the “Sea” and emptying into it. Here it is talking about the Salt Sea or refered to as the Dead Sea. Making the water there fresh. Giving it life. This fresh water attracts living creatures and fish because it brings life wherever it flows. How great of an example of God do we need? Our God is life. He brings it everywhere. The next part mentions fisherman casting their nets into the river. Why? Food could be a reason. Jesus said that he is the living water and bread of life. The loaf of bread we need daily. Are we getting all we need from the river? Verse 11 then says that the salt goes to the swamps and marshes. This salt represents sin. Remember that sin is basically anti-life. After this it says  that fruit trees grow along the banks of the river. Bringing fruit evry month. This fruit is for food and the leaves of the tree are for healing.

In Rev.22:1-2 we have another mention of the river. Talking about much of the same thing. So, are we willing to go to and into the river? Pray about it and let God show you the River.

The Cross

Its been some time since I posted last. Today in church we had a guest speaker. A missionary to the Muslim world. As the service got started I received a word. This word came very quickly and will be difficult to repeat accurately, but I will give the best rendition I can.

The Lord mentioned that his children have crossed the mountains, crossed the valleys, and crossed the river on dry ground. Some have failed at doing this. So He said to pick up his cross and carry it. But we will have a hard time with chains and binds on our hands. These chains and binds make it hard to do this. We need to get rid of these. How can we carry the cross with our hands bound. The lord said that He wants us to get His word out to the people who haven’t heard it. Time is running short. All this needs to get done, but how with binds and chains on.

Afterword there was time at the alter and some people getting prayed for there and at their seats. It was wonderful seeing God move among His children. I do believe people were set free today. Then we continued with the service and our guest speaker. He fielded questions from the congregation.  giving us information that many of us didn’t know. He brought back to us a couple of points from the prophecy about the mountains and valleys. These were related to mountains of hatred and valleys of fear. These are binds and chains that hinder us from carrying His cross. This was in relation to the Muslim people. How much more to our neighbors? What are our binds and chains? What are we carrying instead of the CROSS? Hatred shouldn’t be any where in our thoughts. Even though all of us think that at times. Remember ” God so LOVED the world.” If its fear, then we are lacking faith. God does not promote fear. What ever keeps us from carrying the cross needs to get dumped. Let it go. Its not always easy, but God makes a way for us. Pray and spend time with Him. He is the only answer.  Lets find a way to pick up His cross and carry it.

Prayer

This Friday October 31, I am having a time of prayer. It will start at 7:00 pm and go however long it goes. Not only will we spend time in prayer, but also in worship. If someone that is gifted in worship would take the time and lead us in this, it would be greatly appreciated. I will have some info on Halloween available to read. Most importantly I want this to be a time lead by the Holy Spirit. Please come if it is possible. Thanks

His Space, not yours

Here we are on the Sunday before the eve of All Saints day (that is Halloween)and God gives me a word. Our conversations are fun and interesting. Like todays word which I will mention in a moment. First though I should mention that I was given this during worship this morning. There were other prophecies and the time did not properly present itself. When I was going to speak I was held back.  The prophecy given today was something that I needed to hear. It is encouraging to me and I’m sure for others.

So here is what I was given. “My children, I have a word for you today. This word is “spacious.” My alter is open  and vast. My Presence has room enough. As the voice of one calling from the desert. He said he was there to prepare the way. I have prepared the way for you. Come to me, I am expecting you. No one can take you from me. My Presence is intoxicating. I will fill you up. Be close to me and not worry. For the time is short and dark. I am the light of the world. No one sees beyond what I let them. Look with your spiritual eyes, not your earthly eyes. They deceive you. Come to me for there is plenty of room.”

He wants us to be with Him. That we may be ready when things really start to fall apart. That we really get to know Him. Have a desire to be  with Him more each day. Yet He has a warning for us. Its that we should not trust our own eyes. We see things and get the wrong impression or even something worse. We trust what we see, not Who we don’t physically see. God is all present. Lets start looking with our spiritual eyes. the closer we get, the better our “vision” gets. Spend time with Him today and start seeing things better.

Lastly, His word mentions the time getting short and “dark.” Halloween is close and its not about kids and candy. Satan is working ever so subtly to get us off track.  Halloween is all about evil and that’s it. More on this later. Just pray to God for wisdom in this area.

The Edge

During service this morning I saw someone standing near the edge of a cliff. They were standing contemplating what to do. This is what God says. “Don’t give up. I have not given up on you. You don’t see as I see. You don’t hear as I hear. What seems to be the end is only the beginning Step out in faith, because I have prepared a way.”

I f this is you or someone you know wait a moment. God is the only answer for you. Look around and see what is there before you. Take the time to talk to God. He will give the answer that is best for you. It may not be what you were thinking, but its the best for you at that moment. If its life threatening, take a step back and wait. For those who wait upon the Lord SHALL renew their strength. They SHALL mount up with wings as eagles. They SHALL run and not be weary. They SHALL walk and not faint.

If this is because of a relationship or a ministry, don’t think about what went wrong. Just ask God for a new direction and go forward. He has not left you alone to fight this battle. He has not left you alone to go by yourself. Be encouraged, HE has not forsaken you.

The River Pt. 1

One of the important parts of this blog is the tagline.”Go for a walk in the river. You won’t ever be the same.” I based this from Ezekiel 47:1-12. Its importance is about the closeness we can have with Jesus. In the gospel of John ch. 4 Jesus talk to the woman at the well about “living water.”

Back in Ezekiel we see a river that flows from under the south side of the temple. It also comes from south of the alter. When you put yourself in a position of being on the alter facing out, everything comes from the right. The right being a symbol of strength. A strength of Jesus is the life (river) he offers us through himself. When you read John 19:34 it says that he was pierced in his side bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. Although it does not tell us which side was pierced. It is believed to be the right side in order to weaken his strength. Still, when was the last time you cut yourself and had water flowing with the blood?

This river is described as being ankle deep, knee  deep, waist deep and so deep no one can cross it. A good picture of how close do we want to be with Jesus. Do we just test his presence or are we willing to go so far that we lose ourselves in Him.

In the next part we will look at the river in another aspect of life from Ezekiel ch. 47. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Pass the site on to friends and share God’s love and life with somwone.

His Rest

Today in church we had a really good service. Pastor Judy talked about new wine in new wineskin’s. God is pouring out new wine. Are you an old wineskin or a new one The old one will burst. The new one will hold the new wine. Which makes this an interesting post. Because the Lord gave me a word during worship today about His rest. Although there was really no time during worship to properly say His words. I will do it here.

He said this to me. ” My children, why do you not climb. My children, why do you not climb. Some of you have stopped. Some of you have decided to take the long road. I have set before you a plateau. Where my rest is. My presence is before you. Climb to my rest. For the day’s are dark and getting darker. Time is running out. My return is coming. I will return. But first, I must be known. They must hear my voice. Come before me and be prepared. I have known this time is coming. Climb to my rest. Best do it now before it’s too late.”

He wants us to get ready for the time to come. We can do this by being with Him and listening to His words. Taking them in and using them to make us ready. The plateau is just the first step, But it is where we need to be right now. Are we ready for the time to come or not?  Our world is getting worse toward Christians every day. God wants us to be prepared for this. Read His word  and study it. Pray without ceasing. Be among the fellowship of believers. Build each other up. We’ll need it.

Dance at His Throne

Today in church we had a great time in God’s presence. It was during worship that I received a word from the Lord. I can’t tell it word for word because it was coming forth rather quickly.  But here is message  as best as I can recall.

Come dance at my throne. Come dance at my throne. You who are weary, you who are heavy laden. You fill your pockets with junk and garbage. You carry baggage that you do not need. They are only an imitation.  Dance at my throne and you will crush them. I am the Lord your God. I am all you need. From the beginning, I am the Lord your God. You were not meant to carry this stuff. Dance at my throne. You will have victory. You will have freedom. You will walk upright. I am the Lord your God.

The point here is we have this stuff we keep because we are comfortable with it. Or we keep it because it has a hold on us. We need to let go of it and give it up. When we worship and praise HIM, we move into His presence. We go to His throne and are strengthened by Him. Dancing before Him we will find that we are able to crush all that is trying to keep a hold on us. Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit says the Lord. Until we surrender. Until we give let go of it all. It will be challenging to make a difference in life. Let go an let God. Surrender to Him all that is the junk and garbage in our lives. He is able to set us free and heal us. Live a life of victory in Jesus.

Be blessed,  Ken
